KERNERSVILLE – Mr. Jerry Arnold Chambers, 66, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015, at his home. Jerry was born on February 20, 1949 in Forsyth County to Hoyle Willis Chambers, Sr. and Mayvis Lorraine Tate Chambers. Jerry proudly served his country with Company C in the US Army, where he was a qualified expert in pistol and rifle. He was an avid fan of Wake Forest sports, the Panthers and Matt Kenseth. Jerry shared his love for sports and youth by serving as an umpire for Kernersville Little League for many years. He also was a longtime patron of the Waffle House, where he was known as “Pops”. Jerry dearly loved his late wife, Martha, his family, friends and his rescue animals! With a heart bigger than the world, he sacrificed himself to help others and will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Chambers. Surviving are his daughter, Allison Ellis (Ricky); his son, Steve Ingold (Melinda); 3 grandchildren, Alicia, Chad and Ricky; 2 great grandchildren, Shawn and Ayden; 2 sisters, Dawn Couch and Diane Traynham; 3 brothers, Sonny Chambers, Marty Christopher Chambers and Roylee Chambers; and many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com

I'm sorry but I don;t remember Jerry.....but of coarse that doesn't mean he wasn't a vital part of East Forsyth....as we get older sometimes we have lapses of memory.....chuckle...I call it intermitent alzheimers.  My kind consolances to the family in your loss.  Donna West Purcell
