Michael “Mike” Jack Holcomb, 67, of Mooresville, passed away suddenly early Saturday morning, October 13, 2018, in Chambersburg, PA, on his last boat haul.

Mike was born on September 18, 1951, in Winston-Salem, NC; he was a son of the late Elice Jackson Holcomb and Dorothy Mae Billings Holcomb. Mike was a 1969 graduate of East Forsyth High School. He was a supervisor for Duke Power Company for 37 years and member of First Baptist Church, Mooresville, where he sang in the choir and was an ordained Deacon. He retired from the Mooresville Fire Department in 2007 and was the last volunteer fireman for the department. He was also a retired Captain from the South Carolina National Guard having served in Rock Hill and Gaffney.

Mike is survived by his wife, Delores Ann Sewell Holcomb, whom he married November 21, 1970; daughters, Lesley Holcomb Wilson (David) and Mary Nicole “Nikki” Holcomb (Heath McLaurin); brother, Andy Holcomb (Jenny); sisters, Becki Davidson (Mitchell) and Janet Matthews; grandchildren, Bailey Frye, Stephanie Brinkley, Grey Wilson, Chloe Brinkley, Hunter Frye, Jenna Brinkley, Reese Wilson and Tanner Frye; multiple brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 12:30-2:00 PM with a service following at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church Mooresville with Rev. Eddie Hicks and Rev. Dr. Jerry Cloninger officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Valley Cemetery.

Mike was always such a good friend from Walkertown Elementary through twelfth grade at East Forsyth. His infectious smile and cheerful demeanor were always such a special part of Mike, and he will truly be missed.💖
