Bobby Ray Long, 76, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Brookridge Healthcare. He was born on August 27, 1949, in Forsyth County to the late Spencer and Betty Long.

Bobby was a proud veteran of the United States Army, honorably serving his country in Vietnam. A devoted sports fan—especially of college football—he enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams. He retired from Reynolds Tobacco after 20 years of dedicated service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gina Cecil.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Laura Long of the home; daughter, Kimberly Elizabeth Widener (Hugh McGuiness); son, Spencer Long (Kelly); and grandchildren, Chase J. Long, Brooklyn Tyler Berry, Ally Finney, Ava Finney, Adalyn Finney, Emily Feghaly, and Alex Feghaly. He is also survived by his step-children, Johnathan Finney (Jennifer) and Michelle Feghaly (Mitch); brothers, Mike Long (Vickie) and Richard Long (Jennifer); and two nieces, Krista and Madison.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Elm Grove Methodist Church in Pfafftown. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30–1:30 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem.
