KERNERSVILLE – Judy Carol Norman Whicker, 67, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Judy was born November 10, 1950 in Surry County to Lacy Gray and Dorothy Mae Simmons Norman. Judy took great pride in her home; a place where friends and family would gather to celebrate and enjoy her skills as a great cook. Her genuine, kind heart and loving personality made her a natural caregiver. Judy loved traveling with her husband, Joe, and her job with Nascar working in hospitality at the tracks; an opportunity that allowed her to see the country and meet new people. Judy attended The Summit Church in Kernersville. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Larry; and one sister, Barbara Ann.
Surviving are her husband, Joe Whicker; a daughter, Tracie Mabe Beasley (Jay); a son, Richard Travis Mabe; two stepsons, Marty Whicker (Christy) and Michael Whicker (Brenda); two stepdaughters, Marilyn Whicker and Michelle Whicker Hamm (Todd); nine grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Eddleman, Jaxson Whit Beasley, Jennifer Gilliam (Brock), Emily Vaughn (Chip), Nolan Whicker, Grayson Whicker, Alisha Ramsey (Josh), Stephen Whicker (Crystal), and Nicole Hamm; four great grandchildren; three brothers, Donnie, Jimmy, and Clement Norman; one sister, Shannon Norman; dear friends, Pam Jackson and Pat Powell; many loving nieces and nephews and extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Robbins officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Sorry to hear of Judy’s passing.  She was a sweet person with a beautiful smile. We used to ride the bus together.  I hope her family has good memories to help them find peace.

Oh, my sweet Judy. She was an amazing young lady with that special sparkle in her eyes! I can still remember her contagious laughter. I so wanted to reconnect with her. Loved her so much.
