Preacher Jerry Wayne Whiteheart
Preacher Jerry Wayne Whiteheart, 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 5, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Forsyth County on June 5, 1950, to the late Grady Claude Whiteheart Sr. and Mozelle Disher Whiteheart. Jerry was a man who was committed to his faith. He began preaching in his teenage years and attended Piedmont Bible College. Jerry became well known for his International Radio Broadcast program, “The Light of the Gospel Hour” which ran for over 30 years. He pastored five different churches, presently at Trulite for the past 11 years, and spent 22 years as an Evangelist, spreading the word of the Lord, and touching many hearts along the way. In his bountiful life, Jerry led many into the arms of the Lord and enlightened them with the gospel he preached. He will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his two brothers, Grady Jr. and Steve Whiteheart; as well as a niece, Laurie.
Left to carry on his legacy are his loving wife of 54 years, Susan Roberson Whiteheart; three children, Tim Whiteheart (Rosario), Leah Whiteheart, and Amy Whiteheart Doby (Tim); nine grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Jesse, Alec, Breezy, Allie, Lacey, Levi, and Lily; two great-grandchildren, Milo and Elodie; two sisters, Judy Fulp and Joyce VanderLinden; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Trulite Baptist Church. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM- 12:45 PM prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. Thank you Pastor for your dedicated service for our Lord Jesus, as he directed us to do, save the lost, preach the gospel share the Bible and its words from leaders past. I remember you from East back in our days, you always had a smile and a how are you when you met someone. I am proud to have known you and wish I had known you went on to be a Pastor in our area. Your Legacy will carry on and others who answered your call to serve, preach the word and share the Bible will carry on. As the Bible said, "Well done, good and faithful Servant."
