Thurman Junior Spainhour, 65, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at his home. Thurman was born December 5, 1950 in Forsyth County to Thurman Theo and Wanda Ashby Spainhour. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and worked for Fleet Supply for over 44 years. Thurman loved to fish, was an avid fan of the Carolina Tarheels and Dale Earnhardt, Sr.

Surviving are his wife of 12 years, Angie W. Spainhour; his parents, Thurman and Wanda Spainhour; one child, Deanna Gray Spainhour; two step-children, Kevin Beeson and Amy Neal (Stacy); and two grandchildren, Kaylee and Megan Beeson.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at Mt. Gur Cemetery in Kernersville with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VFW Post 5352, 618 Edgewood Street, Kernersville, NC 27284.

Thurman was such a nice young man.  We were in school together through the end of elementary, junior high and of course high school.  Sincere condolences to his family.

So sorry to hear about Thurman. I didn't know him that well in school, but I did have his daughter, DeAnna, in the afterschool program where I worked years ago. She was a sweet child. I have seen her in the last few years and I feel bad for her and his family.
